Shatta Wale Detained by EOCO Over ‘Yellow’ Lamborghini Tax Inquiry.

The management of dancehall star Shatta Wale has confirmed his detention by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in connection with a tax-related inquiry.

In a statement by his manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly known as Sammy Flex, management explained that the issue concerns the tax obligations of a yellow Lamborghini vehicle.

According to the statement, the musician, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, voluntarily presented himself at the EOCO offices on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations.

“Mr. Mensah presented himself voluntarily at the EOCO offices this afternoon along with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations,” part of the statement read.

Shatta Wale’s management assured fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and working closely with the authorities to ensure his release.

“We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter. They are taking all necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity,” the statement added.

The team further urged the Shatta Movement (SM) family and well-wishers to remain calm and avoid speculations as the case progresses.

Management disclosed that they, together with his legal representatives, will return to the EOCO offices tomorrow morning to continue discussions and pledged to provide further updates in due course.

On August 5, EOCO confirmed the seizure of a luxury Lamborghini Urus SUV that was in the possession of Shatta Wale at the time. The vehicle was said to be linked to convicted Ghanaian-American fraudster Nana Kwabena Amuah, also known as Philip Osei Tutu.

Investigations revealed that the high-end car was allegedly acquired using proceeds from Amuah’s multi-million-dollar romance and business email compromise schemes in the United States.
